PPT97: Second Copy of a Printed Presentation Does Not Start on a New Page (246633)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q246633 SYMPTOMS
If you print multiple copies of a presentation that contains an odd number of slides, and the Duplex and Flip on Long Edge (collate) options are selected, the first page of the even copies (second, fourth, sixth, and so on) is printed on the reverse side of the last page of the previous copy.
WORKAROUND
To work around the problem, use any of the following methods:
- Print only one copy of the presentation at a time instead of printing multiple copies.
- Turn off the Collate option.
- If you are printing to a Printer Command Language (PCL) printer, add a blank slide at the end of the presentation, so that the presentation contains an even number of slides.
- If you are printing to a PostScript printer, add a blank slide that contains white text at the end of presentation, so that the presentation contains an even number of slides. PostScript does not print the blank slide unless the slide contains text or an object.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
