When you are running Internet Explorer through Microsoft Proxy Server and you are using challenge/response (NTLM) authentication, users may encounter multiple proxy authentication prompts when they are attempting to use Internet Web sites that are configured to use Distributed
Password Authentication (DPA) authentication. There are no problems connecting to the Web sites if the proxy server is bypassed.
