SUMMARY

If you install Microsoft Visual C/C++ (MSVC) after you install the INTERIX Software Developer's Kit (SDK), you must point cc and c89 at the Microsoft compiler and linker. The simplest way to do this is to install MSVC and then reinstall the SDK.

If you do not want to reinstall the SDK, you need to set the value of the Microsoft Windows NT environment variable OPENNT_COMPILERDIR. The INTERIX shell startup files contain code that will automatically add the appropriate directories to your PATH, based on the value of this variable.

This environment variable must be set by using the System utility in Control Panel. Setting it in your INTERIX environment will have no effect.
