This article was previously published under Q245853 SYMPTOMS
In any of the Microsoft Office 2000 programs, when you insert a Microsoft Project file object into a file, you may receive the following error message:
You cannot use an Internet address here. Enter a path that points to a location on your computer or on the network.
For details see C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\wecerr.txt.
CAUSE
This error message occurs when you insert a Microsoft Project file object into a Microsoft Office 2000 document, and the Microsoft Project file is located in a Web folder or a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) folder.
This functionality is not supported by Microsoft Project when a project is located in a Web folder or an FTP folder.
WORKAROUND
To insert a Microsoft Project file object, the Microsoft Project file must be located on your computer or on a network server.
NOTE: It is not necessary to physically move the Microsoft Project file to a different location. You can use a valid drive letter and directory path or a valid Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path that points to the same location as the Web folder or FTP folder.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
