XADM: Exchange 2000 Setup Cannot Cycle the Directory Service on the Exchange Server 5.5 Computer (245597)

During Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server setup, you may receive the following error message:
Setup was unable to cycle the Directory service on the Exchange 5.5 server
CAUSE
If you choose to join an existing Exchange Server 5.5 site during Exchange 2000 setup, the Exchange 2000 server verifies that the account used to start Exchange 2000 Setup has the permissions required to stop and restart services on the computer running Exchange Server 5.5.
WORKAROUND
Before you run Setup, run the net use command to the ipc$ share on the Exchange Server 5.5 computer while using the Administrator account (from the same Microsoft Windows NT domain that the Exchange Server 5.5 computer resides in). For example:
net use \\target_5_5_server\ipc$ /user:5_5_NT_Domain\Administrator password
