In Microsoft Outlook Express, Indic (Hindi) characters in the To and Subject boxes may be displayed as question marks (?). However, Indic characters in the body of the message are displayed properly.
CAUSE
This issue can occur because the List view is not Unicode-enabled or font-association enabled. Therefore, the Read font must be a font that handles Indic characters.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
You are unable to work around this issue because none of the Font settings handles Indic characters.
