PUB2000: How to Add a Watermark to Your Publication (244945)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the "Add a text watermark" or "Add a picture watermark" online Help topics in Microsoft Publisher 2000 to add a watermark to your publication, you are unable to add the watermark.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because these online Help topics contain steps that are incorrect.

RESOLUTION

To add a watermark to your publication:
  1. On the View menu, click Go to Background.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click New Drawing.
  3. When the Draw frame is displayed, click Picture from file on the Insert menu.
  4. Browse to the image file you want to use as a watermark, click the image file, and then click Insert.
  5. If you want to resize the Draw frame, drag the resize handles at the corners and sides of the frame to the size you want.
  6. Click to select the image, click the Image Control button on the Picture toolbar, and then click Watermark.
  7. On the View menu, click Go to Foreground.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Publisher 2000.
