Scheduling Exchange Connector to Download from POP3 Mailboxes Using a Full-Time Modem Connection (244816)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5
This article was previously published under Q244816 SUMMARY
When you configure the Microsoft Exchange Connector for POP3 Mailboxes to use a full-time broadband modem connection you do not have the option to schedule the download process.
MORE INFORMATION
The Exchange Connector in Small Business Server 4.5 is hard-coded to download e-mail messages from the POP3 Server at 15-minute intervals.
If you want to schedule a different interval and the server has a full-time connection, you can configure the POP3 connector to use the Router option instead of the Full-Time/Broadband Modem option on the Connect & Download tab of the properties of the Exchange Connector for POP3 Mailboxes.
If you use the Router option you do not initiate a Dial-Up Networking connection, instead you use the existing full-time connection to connect to the POP3 server. You can then use the schedule option to schedule the POP3 downloads. The shortest time frame allowable for scheduling is 15 minutes for a schedulable connection.
NOTE: Leave the Router Trigger box blank.
