OL2000: Unable to Change Font Style and Size of Text Pasted from Word (244705)

SYMPTOMS

You are unable to change the font style and font size of text copied from Microsoft Word and pasted into a new HTML message.

NOTE: If you select only part of the paragraph, you are able to change the font style and size.

CAUSE

The paragraph mark from Word was not copied with the text.

RESOLUTION

Use one of the following methods to modify the font style or size in Outlook:
  • Select Microsoft Outlook Rich Text as your default message format.
  • Use Word as your e-mail editor.
  • Use the cut and paste method described in the "More Information" section.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you select an entire paragraph of text that you copied from Word into an HTML message, you may not be able to change the front style or size. However, if you select only part of the paragraph, you are able to change the font style and size.

To Paste a Paragraph from Word into an HTML Message

  1. Turn on the option to view paragraph marks in Word.
  2. Select the text and include the paragraph mark.
  3. Copy and paste the text into the HTML message.
  4. Select the entire paragraph, including the extra space at the end.
  5. Select a new font style or size for the paragraph.
