SYMPTOMS

When you read the Internet Protocol (IP) Security and Data Encryption topics in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Help, you find reference to support for 40-bit U.S. Data Encryption Standard (DES) security. But Windows 2000 does not support 40-bit encryption.

NOTE: The Help file for Windows 2000 Professional is located in the C:\Winnt\Help folder and is named Netcfg.chm.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
