Internet Explorer 4.x Setup Downloads Setup Files Again Instead of Installing (244463)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Internet Explorer 4.x Setup, Setup may download all of the Setup files again even though they have already been downloaded.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Setup detects that a previous installation attempt was not successful and uses the Safe Recovery option.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, run Setup and choose the Download Only option. When the download process is finished, double-click the Ie4setup.exe file in the Internet Explorer Download folder so that the Safe Recovery option is not used.
