WD97: Splitting Rightmost Cell in Table Loses Some Format If Only a Style Is Applied (244437)

SYMPTOMS

If any cell in the rightmost column of a Word table has a style applied and you split the cell, the resulting leftmost cell does not have all of the applied style's formatting, yet the rightmost cell shows the style as applied.

NOTE: This problem does not occur if you use the drawing tool to split the cell.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the problem described in this article, obtain and install the latest Microsoft Word 97 update from the following Microsoft Web site: IMPORTANT NOTE: Microsoft Word 97 post-service release fixes are cumulative. The latest update contains all of the fixes since Service Release 2. If you install the latest update for Word 97, you do not need to install any other updates after Service Release 2.
