MOD2000: Uninstalling Drops modSystem Database from SQL Server (244315)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office 2000 Developer
This article was previously published under Q244315 Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.
SYMPTOMS
When you uninstall the Access Workflow Designer server or developer components, the modSystem database, stored on the Microsoft SQL Server, is dropped.
CAUSE
Application-specific changes should be made to the application-specific database and not to the modSystem database. Therefore, removing the modSystem database is only part of removing the appropriate Access Workflow Designer components and should not impact a team-solution database.
RESOLUTION
If you are making modifications to the modSystem database, back the database up before you remove either the server or developer Access Workflow Designer components. Of course, the best alternative is to make changes to the application-specific database and not to the modSystem database.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
