USB IntelliMouse Is Not Detected on a Toshiba Protege 3110CT in Battery Mode (244278)

SYMPTOMS

If you connect a Microsoft IntelliMouse USB to a Toshiba Protege 3110CT laptop computer while the computer is in Battery mode, the mouse is not detected. The mouse is detected when the computer is using the AC power adapter.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, manually refresh the IntelliMouse USB in Device Manager:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System.
  3. Click the Device Manager tab.
  4. Click to highlight the Mouse branch.
  5. Click Refresh (or press ALT+F on the keyboard). This refreshes Device Manager, and the IntelliMouse USB should be detected by the computer.
