The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.0
  • Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.0a

This article was previously published under Q244240

SYMPTOMS

You can use Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) to send an e-mail confirmation when a fax is sent from an SBS client computer. If the sender is using Microsoft Outlook, and there are rules configured to detect the arrival of a new message, these rules are not activated by the arrival of a fax confirmation message. However the arrival of regular e-mail messages activates these rules.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, these rules can be configured to move or forward these messages manually by using the Run Now feature in the Rules Wizard.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
