WD2000: Danish Word Crashes When Pressing BACKSPACE in Paragraph Dialog Box (243932)

SYMPTOMS

When you press BACKSPACE in one of the text boxes in the Afsnit (Paragraph) dialog box on the Formater (Format) menu, Danish Word 2000 crashes.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To temporarily work around this issue, use one of the following methods to edit the text in these text boxes:
  • Remove the text by using the DELETE key.
  • Overtype the existing settings.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. Start Danish Word 2000.
  2. On the Formater menu, click Afsnit (corresponds to Paragraph on the Format menu in the English version of Word 2000).
  3. Place the insertion point at the end of the text in one of the following boxes:

    Venstre (corresponds to Left in the English version of Word)
    Hoejre (Right)
    Foer (Before)
    Efter (After)

  4. Press BACKSPACE.

    Result: Word crashes.
