XFOR: Update on Blocking Instant Messaging Status (243797)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q243797 SUMMARY
The Microsoft Instant Messaging client gives users the ability to block contacts from viewing their status or sending them messages. When you define a contact as "blocked," that contact can view your status as of the time you blocked them, but not later. Any subsequent changes to your status are not communicated to the blocked contact.
After a blocked contact disconnects and reconnects, he or she no longer has any reference to the previously subscribed user in his or her Contacts list, either online or offline.
