In Exchange 2000, Instant Messaging clients have the ability to add Instant Messaging contacts in order to facilitate peer-to-peer communication as well as presence information. The maximum number of contacts that may be added is limited to 512.
Also, because of this limitation, the Instant Messaging client has a maximum amount of 512 concurrent logons to its Instant Messaging server as well.
