XFOR: Notes Directory Synchronization Error Message: Event IDs 94086 and 94096 (243190)

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Exchange Server does not receive directory synchronization (dirsync) updates from the Lotus Notes server. The following error messages are logged in the Exchange Server connectivity log:
1998/09/14 12:02:20- LME-NOTES-DXANOTES(0180) 1 64096:Error {Not available} detected when determining Name of Address Book >> lndxapi(2359)
1998/09/14 12:02:20- LME-NOTES-DXANOTES(0180) 1 64086:Error {Not available} detected when attempting to delete user >> lndxapi(2310)
1998/09/14 12:02:20- LME-NOTES-DXANOTES(0180) 2 64073:Error {Not done}:While processing Transaction 1

CAUSE

The error messages in the "Symptoms" section of this article are caused by the incorrect configuration of the Exchconn.ini file that is located in the Exchsrvr\Connect\Exchconn folder.

RESOLUTION

In the Exchsrvr\Connect\Exchconn folder, open the Exchconn.ini file and make sure that the following entries match:

[DXANOTES]
SourceBooks = names.nsf

[LME-NOTES-DXANOTES]
SourceBooks = names.nsf

If the SourceBooks files that are specified in these entries do not match, change them so that they match and reflect the correct file name for the source address book.
