Cannot Join a Conference on an H.323 Multipoint Control Unit (243149)

SYMPTOMS

You may not be able to connect to a conference on a Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) with NetMeeting.

CAUSE

The MCU may be configured so that you must connect to the hosting gatekeeper before connecting to the MCU.

RESOLUTION

  1. Log on to the gatekeeper to which the MCU is logged on first.
  2. Call the registered alias of the conference you want to join.
  3. If NetMeeting displays a list of conferences, choose the conference you want to join again.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact the manufacturer of the MCU or the company hosting the MCU server.
