This article was previously published under Q243130 SYMPTOMS
You may be unable to use video in NetMeeting. When you attempt to use video conferencing in NetMeeting with two different video devices installed, NetMeeting may detect your video capture adapter instead of the video camera.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you have more than one video device installed.
Note that the "Video" section of the Netmeet.txt file includes the following statement:
If you have more than one video device installed, or you have not properly uninstalled a video device that was previously installed, you might not be able to use video.
When you select the video device during Setup, the position of the driver is used rather than the device ID.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Multimedia.
- Click the Advanced tab, and then click Video capture devices.
- Click the video device you do not want to use for NetMeeting, and then click to select the Do not use this video device check box.
- Click OK.
- Restart the computer.
