FS2000: Aircraft and Adventure Converter Does Not Convert Flight Simulator 95 Adventures (242852)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to convert Microsoft Flight Simulator 95 adventures by using the Aircraft and Adventure Converter (Aafconv.exe) that is provided with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000, the situation (.stn) files and wave audio (.wav) files associated with the Flight Simulator 95 adventures are not copied properly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, manually copy the situation files and wave audio files into the appropriate Flight Simulator 2000 folder.

Copy all of the situation files that are associated with the adventure that you want to convert into the ADV folder for Flight Simulator 2000.

The default location of the ADV folder for Flight Simulator 2000 is

drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2000\ADV

where drive is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Flight Simulator 2000 is installed.

Copy all of the wave audio files that are associated with the adventure that you want to convert into the WAV folder for Flight Simulator 2000.

The default location of the WAV folder for Flight Simulator 2000 is

drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2000\ADV\WAV

where drive is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Flight Simulator 2000 is installed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
