The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
This article was previously published under Q242526 SYMPTOMS
During the text-mode portion of Windows 2000 Setup, the following error message may be displayed:
An unexpected error (0) occurred at line 954 in. D:\nt\private\ntos\setup\oemdisk.c
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you press F6 to add a SCSI driver during Setup and your computer uses an LS-120 drive as its floppy disk device, or if you do not have a floppy disk drive connected to your computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, connect a floppy disk drive to the computer so that you can add SCSI drivers during Setup. If a floppy disk drive exists, make sure the drive and floppy controller are functioning correctly and that the floppy disk drive is attached to the floppy controller.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.
MORE INFORMATION
LS-120 drives are drives that are connected to a computer's IDE controller, not the floppy controller. During text-mode Setup, Windows 2000 Setup only recognizes a standard floppy disk drive as a device for loading additional drivers.
