SUMMARY

If your database is marked as "Don't mount during startup," the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server information store service does not try to initialize that database during startup. This is useful when you are trying to determine which database is preventing the information store service from starting successfully.

To mark a database as "Don't mount during startup:"
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and click System Manager.
  2. Click to expand Organization, click Servers, click your server, click Information Store, and then click your storage group.
  3. Right-click your database, and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Database tab.
  5. Click to select the Don't mount this store at start-up check box.
