SUMMARY

This article explains how to completely remove all components of Team Folders from your computer.

MORE INFORMATION

Completely removing Team Folders from your computer requires three distinct operations:
  • Removing program files installed with team folders
  • Removing Outlook view and permissions controls
  • Removing registry information

Removing Team Folders Files

To remove Team Folders files from your computer, follow these steps:
  1. On the Start menu, click Add/Remove Programs.
  2. In Add/Remove, click Microsoft Outlook 2000 Team Folders Wizard, and then click Add/Remove. Click Yes to remove the wizard.
  3. Repeat the Add/Remove process as in step 2, clicking Microsoft Outlook 2000 Team Folders Kit if it exists, and click Add/Remove, to remove the kit.
  4. On the Start menu, click Find, then Files or Folders.
  5. In the Look In box, type tfkit. Delete all items found by right-clicking on them and clicking Delete.
  6. Repeat the previous step, searching for tfwizard.

Removing Outlook View and Permissions Controls

To reset Outlook views and permissions altered during Team Folder Setup, follow these steps:
  1. On the Start menu, click Find, then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Look In box, type Downloaded Program Files to search for the folder with that name; it should be located in the Windows or Winnt folder. Double-click the folder to open it.
  3. Look for the items, Microsoft Outlook 2000 Permissions Control and Microsoft Outlook View Control. If they exist, right click each item in turn, and then click Remove. When prompted, click Yes to remove the control.

Removing Registry Information

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To remove registry information altered during Team Folders Setup, follow these steps:
  1. On the Start menu, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Navigate to the following registry key:

    HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Microsoft.OLTeamFolderWizard

  3. Right-click the key, click Delete, and then click Yes. If you are using Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, navigate to and delete the following registry key:

    HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\ServerAddins\Microsoft.OLTeamFolderWizard

If you have created Team Folders applications and no longer need them, you can delete them from the Public Folder, or other locations that store the Team Folders items and folder home pages.
