Default (GMT) Time Zone Changes During Service Pack Upgrades (241331)

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade a computer running Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3, 4, or 5 (SP3, SP4, SP5), to Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 (SP6), and the default time zone is set to (GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia, the default time zone after the upgrade may be changed to the (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time; Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Lisbon time zone.

If your default time zone setting is (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time: Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Lisbon, it may be changed to the (GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia time zone.

RESOLUTION

Windows NT Server or Workstation 4.0

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition.

This problem was first corrected in Windows NT Server 4.0 Service Pack 6 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 6.
