OL98: (CW) Option Buttons Missing Accessing the Outlook Address Book from Word (241317)

NOTE: The procedures in this article only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to access addresses from the Contacts folder, using the Insert Address Book command in Microsoft Word, the Mailing, Home, and Other address type selections are missing.

CAUSE

A key file used in the Address Book conversion, Schdmapi.dll, is either missing or damaged.

RESOLUTION

Install or replace Schdmapi.dll.>

To replace Schdmapi.dll, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type Schdmapi.dll.
  3. In Look In, click to select My Computer, and then click Find Now.
  4. In the search results list, right-click to select Schdmapi.dll, if it exists, and then click Rename.
  5. Edit the file name extension to old.
  6. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  7. Double-click the Add Remove Programs icon.
  8. In the list of programs, click Microsoft Outlook 98, and click Add/Remove.
  9. In the Outlook Active Setup dialog box, click Rerun Outlook 98 Setup.
Active Setup replaces versions of key files and replace any missing, incorrect, or outdated versions with current versions.
