FrontPage 2000 turns off the spelling checker if the Default spelling language (on the Tools menu, click Page Options), Locale, and Regional settings are set to English (New Zealand) or another English region without a dictionary.
If you switch the Default spelling language in FrontPage to a compatible but different language (such as Australian or British), the spelling checker is turned on, but it checks by using English (United States).
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, set the Default spelling language to English (British).
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
