SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to paste text into a pushpin note field in Microsoft Encarta World Atlas 2000, you may receive a system beep and the pushpin note field may remain empty.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you attempt to paste more than six lines of text (approximately 30 words) into a pushpin note field.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, limit the amount of text you paste into a pushpin note field to six lines of text or less.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Encarta World Atlas 2000.

If you try to paste more than six lines (approximately 30 words), you'll see a message that tells you the text won't fit.

However, you do not receive this message when you attempt to paste more than six lines of text into a pushpin note field.
