OL2000: (CW) Option Buttons Missing Accessing the Outlook Address Book from Word (240629)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to access addresses from the Contacts folder, using the Insert Address Book command in Microsoft Word, the Mailing, Home, and Other address type selections are missing.

CAUSE

A key file used in the Address Book conversion, Schdmapi.dll, is either missing or damaged.

RESOLUTION

Install or replace Schdmapi.dll.

To replace Schdmapi.dll, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type Schdmapi.dll.
  3. In Look In, click to select My Computer, and then click Find Now.
  4. In the search results list, right-click to select Schdmapi.dll, if it exists, and then click Rename.
  5. Edit the file name extension to old.
  6. On the Help menu, click Detect And Repair.
  7. In the Detect And Repair dialog box, click Start. Insert the compact disc when prompted. Restart Microsoft Windows when the Repair process is complete.
The Windows Installer will detect versions of key files and replace any missing, incorrect or outdated versions with current versions.
