Money 2000: An Associated Cash or Contributions Account Is Listed on Favorites Menu (240570)

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Favorites menu in Microsoft Money 2000, you may experience the following symptoms:
  • An associated cash account or a contributions account may be listed on the Favorites menu.
  • You may be unable to remove the favorite for the associated cash account or the contributions account from the Favorites menu.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the associated cash account for an investment is marked as a favorite in an older version of Microsoft Money, and then that file is converted to Money 2000 format.

RESOLUTION

To remove the listed account from the Favorites menu:
  1. Start Money 2000
  2. On the Money navigation bar, click Investing.
  3. Click Portfolio.
  4. Right-click the investment associated cash account.
  5. Click See Account Details.
  6. Click to clear the Favorite account check box.
  7. Click Done.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
