SUMMARY

You cannot track a security in which you do not own any shares without associating the security with an Investment account.

MORE INFORMATION

In Microsoft Money 2000 and later, you cannot track a security outside of an Investment account if you do not own any shares of that security.

To track a security that you do not own, either create a new Investment account or add the security to the Investments to Watch account that is created when you set up a new Money file.

To add a security to the Investments to Watch account:
  1. Click Investing, and then click Portfolio.
  2. In the left pane, click Add an investment.
  3. In the Account box, click the account that you want to use, and then click Next.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to add the security to the account.
