When you attempt to import a custom wave audio (.wav) file into the Sound
Script Editor, you may receive the following error message:
<Filename> is not a valid WAV file.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the wave audio file uses an audio compression
algorithm other than PCM (Pulse Code Modulation). To play back wave audio
files in Links LS, the files must use the PCM audio compression format.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, convert the wave audio file into PCM format:
- Click Start, point to Programs, and then
click Accessories.
- Point to Multimedia or Entertainment, and then
click Sound Recorder.
- Click File, and then click Open.
- Locate the custom wave audio file you want to import, and then
click Open.
- Click File, and then click Properties.
- In the Choose From box under Format Conversion,
click PCM, and then click Convert Now.
- Click OK, and then click OK again.
- Click File, and then click Save.
