SYMPTOMS
While you are sharing either a program or the desktop using NetMeeting, the computer may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
This behavior is known to occur with systems that have an Accel PerMedia II video adapter.
RESOLUTIONWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk. - Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
- Locate the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Accel3
- Select the following value:
Value Name: DisablePCIDisconnect Data Type: REG_DWORD Data: 0
- On the Edit menu, click DWORD. Type 1 in the Data box.
- Click OK, and then quit Registry Editor.
- Restart the computer.
MORE INFORMATION
The registry value listed above changes the behavior of the video adapter to reduce PCI bus contention. There are no adverse effects or other differences when you change this setting. For additional details about this setting, please consult the hardware manufacturer.
