FIX: Replication Error: 14262 Specified @job_id Not Found (240290)

SYMPTOMS

If you have configured replication with a pull subscription to multiple publications, you may receive the following error message if one publication becomes unsubscribed:
14262 Specified @job_id Not Found
This error occurs when the distribution agent attempts to run for the remaining publications.

CAUSE

If you unsubscribe a publication, the distribution task is removed and therefore unavailable to the remaining publications.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, unsubscribe all the publications for the subscriber and then resubscribe them.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 7.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
