SUMMARY

In Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC), the "msdtc -remove" command is replaced with the "msdtc -uninstall" command in Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP.

The "msdtc -remove" command is used to switch default transaction manager from local computer to a remote computer. With the COM+ version of MS DTC, the correct way to use this feature is through the Component Services Explorer, by setting the default coordinator feature.

When the "msdtc -remove" command is run, an error is reported in the application event log. This error says to use the Component Services Explorer to change the location of the default coordinator.

MORE INFORMATION
