This article describes how you can install Microsoft Works 2000 only when you run Microsoft Works Suite 2000 Setup.

To install Works 2000 only when you run Works Suite 2000 Setup:
  1. Insert the Works Suite 2000 Setup CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.

    If Setup does not start automatically, click Start, click Run, type the following line in the Open box, and then click OK

    drive:\setup.exe

    where drive is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive.
  2. When the Works Suite 2000 Setup Welcome screen appears, click Typical.
  3. Click to clear all but one of the check boxes under Typical Installation.

    NOTE: Any program's check box can remain selected.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to install Works Suite 2000.
  5. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  6. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  7. Click Microsoft Works Setup Launcher, and then click Add/Remove.
  8. Click Remove, and then click the program that you want to remove (the program corresponding to the check box that remained selected in step 3).
  9. Click Continue, and then follow the instructions on the screen to remove the program.NOTE: Microsoft Word 2000 is the only word processor included in Works Suite 2000. The Works 2000 Word Processor is not included in Works Suite 2000.
