E-mail Attachments Are Not Removed from Temporary Folder (239891)

SYMPTOMS

When you synchronize the Inbox on your Microsoft Windows CE-based device, copies of attachments are created in the C:\Windows\Temp folder. These attachments (for example, Microsoft Word documents or Microsoft Excel spreadsheets) are not automatically purged from the Temp folder when synchronization is complete, nor are they deleted when you restart the device.

Over time, as the number of these attachments in the Temp folder grows, you could potentially encounter unexpected low disk space.

WORKAROUND

To avoid unnecessary files in the C:\Windows\Temp folder, delete all unnecessary files from the folder. This issue has been resolved. To prevent the accretion of TEMP files, upgrade to ActiveSync 3.5 or later.
