SUMMARY

The display name for the Exchange Server message transfer agent (MTA) service referred to in Exchange Server 5.5 and earlier as the "Microsoft Exchange Server Message Transfer Agent," has been changed to "Microsoft Exchange MTA Stacks" in Exchange 2000 Server. Its function is to provide the Exchange X.400 services.
