Problems with VCOMM After Standby (239787)

You may have problems getting the modem port to open when you are running diagnostics on the modem half of a WinModem adapter. This behavior may occur after the computer enters Standby mode, you wake the computer, and you then run the diagnostics again.
RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
