MSPS: Cannot Synchronize Handset with the Base Station (239709)

SYMPTOMS

You may be unable to synchronize the handset for the Microsoft Cordless Phone System with the base station. Although you may see the light on the base station blink, you do not hear the two short confirmation tones from the handset.

RESOLUTION

You may be able to resolve this issue by resetting the hardware:

  1. Shut down and turn off the computer.
  2. Unplug the power adapter from the back of the base station.

    NOTE: Make sure that the light on the front of the base station is not lit.
  3. Wait for 15 seconds, and then plug the power cord back into the base station.
  4. Resynchronize the handset with the base station.

  5. Restart the computer.
