SYMPTOMS

If you disconnect a 3-button mouse and connect a 5-button mouse to a PS/2 port on a computer that supports hot swapping, the Mouse tool in Control Panel may continue to display information for the 3-button mouse.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, restart the computer after you connect the 5-button mouse to the PS/2 port in the computer.
