SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install the Microsoft IntelliPoint 3.0 software, you may receive the following error message:

_Ins5576 caused an invalid page fault in module _Ins5576._mp

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you cancel the IntelliPoint 3.0 software Setup program during the installation process.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, finish the installation process, and then use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to remove the IntelliPoint 3.0 software.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft IntelliPoint software, version 3.0.
