Encarta Reference Suite 2000: Setup Does Not Remove All Suite 99 Files from Hard Disk (239582)

SYMPTOMS

If you choose to remove Microsoft Encarta Reference Suite 99 during the installation of Microsoft Encarta Reference Suite 2000, Setup does not remove all Encarta Reference Suite 99 files from your hard disk.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue:
  1. Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
  2. Click the PLUS SIGN (+) next to the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows is installed.
  3. Click the PLUS SIGN (+) next to Program Files.
  4. Right-click Microsoft Reference, click Delete, and then click Yes.
  5. Quit Windows Explorer.
  6. On the desktop, right-click the Recycle Bin icon, click Empty Recycle Bin, and then click Yes.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Encarta Reference Suite 2000.
