Works: Error Message When You Save or Open a File (239393)

When you attempt to open a file in Microsoft Works Word Processor,
you may receive the following error message:
Works cannot open filename. The file may be in
use by another application, the file format may not be supported by
any of the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt.
When you attempt to save a file in Works Word Processor, you may receive the following error message:
Works cannot save filename. There may not be
enough space on the computer or Works cannot save the file to the
specified destination.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when you attempt to open or save a Microsoft
Windows Write (.wri) file.
Works does not support the Windows Write (.wri) file converter, which
may have been installed by another program or by the operating system.
RESOLUTION
To prevent this issue from occurring, do not attempt to open or save a
file as a Windows Write file in Works.
