SYMPTOMS

When you open an HTML document in Microsoft Works 2000 Word Processor that contains a picture, the text is visible as expected, but the picture is missing and has been replaced by a blank frame.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the HTML-to-Works converter does not convert picture files correctly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, you may replace the empty box with the missing image. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Click the blank frame that you want to replace.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
  3. Browse to find the picture that you want, and then click Open.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Works 2000.

MORE INFORMATION

To work around this issue, open the HTML document in a Web browser such as Internet Explorer.

NOTE: You are not able to edit the document, but all the text and images are visible.
