Works Suite 2000: Brochure Opened in Word Contains Unexpected Number Signs (239352)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works Suite 2000
This article was previously published under Q239352 SYMPTOMS
When you create a brochure with Microsoft Works 2000 Word Processor using a Works Brochure template, and you then upgrade to Works Suite 2000 and open the brochure in Word 2000, number signs (#) appear at the beginning of the brochure.
CAUSE
Works Word Processor and Microsoft Word do not use the same field names at all times. When Word opens a document that contains a field name that it does not recognize, it generates a number sign as a placeholder for the unrecognized field name.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Works Suite 2000. MORE INFORMATION
To work around this problem, select and delete the unwanted number signs.
