Works 2000: Transparent GIF Appears Opaque When Inserted into Works (239320)

When you insert a transparent .gif (graphic interchange file) file into a Microsoft Works 2000 Word Processor document, the graphic file appears opaque, and you cannot see the background through it.
CAUSE
Works 2000 does not have native support for .gif files and does not support transparency.
All images are converted to enhanced metafiles.
