Works 6: Two Tables Are Joined When You Open Word Document in Works Word Processor (239306)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Word document (*.doc file) in Microsoft Works Word Processor, if the document contains two or more tables, the tables may be joined together, and the number and width of cells in the table may be changed.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the top of one table is touching the bottom of another table.

NOTE: This fact can be hidden if text wrapping is used.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, create new tables in Word Processor, transfer the data from the improperly formatted table to the new tables, and then delete the improperly formatted table.

To create a new table in Works Word Processor, follow these steps:
  1. On the Table menu, click Insert Table.
  2. In the Insert Table dialog box, select the number of rows and columns you want in the Number of rows box, and the Number of columns box.
  3. Select the row height and column width you want in the Row height box, and the Column width box.
  4. Click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Works 6.
