Works 2000 Error Message: Setup Is Unable to Register Tasks (239285)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, reinstall Works 2000, and then uninstall Works 2000. To do this, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

Reinstall Works 2000

To reinstall Works 2000:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
4. Click Microsoft Works 2000, and then click Add/Remove.
5. Click Next.
6. Click Reinstall, and then click Next.
7. Follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall Works 2000.

Uninstall Works 2000

To uninstall Works 2000:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
4. Click Microsoft Works 2000, and then click Add/Remove.
5. Click Next.
6. Click Remove, and then click Next.
7. Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall Works 2000.
